GGOTHAM’S SQUIRREL NAMED “JERRY”

Spring daffodil blooms,

Tulips in full, the sun looms,

Big Apple days as the trees sprout,

Life’s astir the snow  melts about ,

Gathering nuts by feverish pitch

pets scamper in a favorite niche,

Jerry next to me ,no fear, sits down,

Hops on my lap, tail bushy in brown,

Demands lunch on his arm nails ,

This daily routine has never  fails:

My pocket palm opens to see,

Grabs in quick’n’ runs to a tree,

Thus intact our friendship remains,

Special is he life moments retains.

Dear Ishrat,
I loved your poem about the squirrel – it made me want to go the park and find my own “nutcracker”! Thanks for brightening my day🙏🙏🙏
